yes, anyone with a cool phone that isn’t for buisness still beats their meat.

windows mobile is an os for people who want to have an office in their pockets and who want to have functionality,
iPhone is for those who still beat their meat.

iPhone wins. Interface is better and smoother. Windows Mobile 6.5 looks like something that would have been done years and years ago. lol

Indeed, but everyone puts their time into something… and I can’t completely blame people for not wasting their time with computers and technology… because when we’re looking up porn on our phones, they’re out… umm… actually getting laid. :(

What a shame, isn’t it? Man, I don’t know squat about computers.. I just know I can write papers, play games, interact w/others, and look up porn on it. Even then, with a simple desire of wanting my phone to be “cool” I took the time to mess w/WinMo… and the pay off is huge.

Oh well, you get what you put into it.

You over-estimate people. Perhaps not their intelligence as much as their desire to understand technology. Most people don’t care enough about computers to learn how to use them properly… they want to feel like they know how to use it without even trying. This is why Richard Stallman’s free-software battle has not attracted any more than a very small, die-hard fanbase in the 20 years that he’s been fighting the battle. People don’t want to put any amount of time in understanding computers.

Most definitely. WinMo has tons of problems. That’s a given. But then, so does any other OS. My point is that while it isn’t EASY to pick up and start hacking away at WinMo, it’s also not as hard as people seem to make it out to be. Simply following directions, asking around, and really getting help that’s everywhere on the net remedies this.

Who are you talking to, exactly? I’ve been a professional software developer for five years, now… I don’t have any problem using Windows Mobile. However, it’s really narrow-minded to suggest that anyone, regardless of how tech-savvy they aren’t, can pick up a Windows Mobile phone and utilize even half of its features. Beyond that, even as a Windows Mobile fan, you should have no problem identifying its shortcomings (to which there are plenty), many of which are being resolved in v6.5.

Lack of complexity isn’t the same thing as having variety, which the WinMo platform is strong about.

Also, WinMo is. not. that. hard. to use. It’s just not as dumbed down as the Iphone is. It can also be VERY smooth as well.

And still the xbox360 is smoother.. ouch

the ps3 has better processor than the xbox 360

It’s the lack of a complex interface that make the iPhone appealing. It’s simplistic and well executed. Everything on it runs smoothly and is provided with zero learning curve. The downside of this design model is that it comes feature lacking.

    PS3 is better

Iphone doesn’t have an interface. It’s a screen with a bunch of apps in a grid. Not really an interface.

Iphone isn’t a bad phone. But it’s severely overrated. That’s why Iphone fanboys have such a bad rap… not the quality of the phone, but just that they don’t know when to STFU.

The PS3 Is great, but they tested out which one could make it most, on Smackdown Vs Raw, they made a match with 6 ppl, and the Xbox 360 was smoother , and the PS3 was laggy.

    iphone is way better

  20. Comment by SlyMaelstrom — October 6, 2009 @ 7:52 pm

Yeah, but you need to recognize that every WinMo phone that you’ve messed with to this point is using 6.0 or 6.1… if the comparison was made with that then the interface comparison would be heavily lopsided towards the iPhone. As I said early, as far as interfacing goes, the iPhone deserves a lot of credit and it shows when all other major mobile OSes are emulating them. What iPhone people really need to realize is that they didn’t invent apps nor did they invent any of the iPhone hardware.

well can be. but im over the touch shit now…. ive had the 1st gen iphone 3giphone and have a 3gs rite now ive messed with samsung behold, memiar messed with the old touch pro, but somthing about all the settings all the customization and ways u can have things on the BB Bold and how it powers up in literraly 3 seconds. and how there is never lag just seems more of a solid phone. and plus it looks very sexy. i think its fine im done wit the hole ipod touch goes phone.

Yes, but try using a WinMo phone that hasn’t been spruced up by a manufacturer custom interface. HTC went to great lengths to cover up the typical Windows Mobile 6.1 interface, as has Samsung, Sony Ericsson, and Toshiba. While I think 6.5 looks vastly improved over 6.1… you really have to credit the iPhone OS for the innovation that Microsoft is now trying to emulate and improve upon, software-wise. Personally, I’d say it looks like Microsoft did a nice job with the next iteration.

Non-Touch Screen… some people love the touch screen phones, some people hate them. I always recommend the Bold to those who don’t like touch screens, but in today’s world… for many, no touch is a deal breaker.
