Does Android, or the HTC hero for that matter support Windows Live Messenger? Being on messenger (NOT a web messenger) is a big breaker for me, yet it is rarely mentioned what IM apps are available for devices aside from Blackberry reviews it seems (just because they have it all?)

I am on orange spain, and they were giving me the HTC Hero for free so I would not leave them but I am leaving because I don“t like the HTC Android OS and the iphone was the innovation of multi touch mobile phone.

The makers of the iPhone should be tied up and put in a slowly sinking ship that is auto-piloted into the abis.

    Why?

Because the music player, (where the iPhone got its start) still cannot display song titles that are over 16 or so letters. How hard is it to make the name scroll?

lol but in general, I love my iPhone 3G. I’m just quick to deal out cruel and unusual punishments.

I REALLY wish I could go with a Hero but I need a phone now and it has to be on ATT. So I really only can chose the iphone

I have to agree . . . the Palm Pre and Android seem to be reactionary, design-wise, to iPhone. The important thing, however, is the separation from the devices and WinMo. So Pre’s WebOS and the Android may be able to innovate a lot faster than WinMo. Pretty soon, they won’t need to focus on people with iPhone-Envy; they’ll be able to go their own route. My opinion, of course. I wonder if the Hero would be as easy to flash the Rom as the Touch Diamond/Pro?

The IBM simon was the first mobile touch screen phone, released in 1994.

Sprint already has the 4G don’t they? Or is that some marketing-word-play trickery?

You kinda lied about the iPhone Noah, you dont need to add words to your contacts to add them to your dictionary. If you use a certain word multiple times it will remember your use of it. Think you concentrated a little too much of what the Hero did obviously where the iPhone does it without telling you.

forreal. since the iphone 1st generation came out all the other companies started to cop apples design, first by copying touch screen into multi touch then the accelerometer, auto correct and even a similar ui. man when the 4g comes out all the companies will be cryin on their knees then copy again and try to beat it. the iphone war war will continue and continue until one company will just destroy either one completly. but until then im stickin with apple.

I’m sorry but it appears the HTC, along with other smart phones, borrowed from Apple’s design. I’ll bet Apple is already cooking up the next bang then once again all the other brands will struggle to catch up, just how Apple does things

right now.. the hero has only been confirmed for sprint. tmobile already denied plans. and hero passed FCC with frequencies that ATT uses. so ATT could be gettign it too.

Nice hd the hero is better because the hero was running on 2g and it was beating the iphone when come to the us it will run on 3g also sprint is coming out with 4g so this dog fight was not fair since the hero was only using 2g
