First look at the Toshiba TG-01 touchscreen handset! It’s not in shops until summer but megawhat.tv went along to the launch event to get our hands on this potential iPhone rival first and see what it’s swish 3D GUI and 1Ghz processor was like.

I dont think it has 3g, and I dont know what you mean with carrier.. ;P
But I’ve finally tried it! And i think it’s really good! The camera is 3 mpx it’s a little bit laggy but who cares, it’s better than other ones. And in the touch u need to press a little harder on the display than the touchwiz. That I think is better so you dont to any misstakes.
Well, try it in the stores if you have that possibility!
Is the lg kp500 being sold in the USA? also, what carrier are you with? Is it available for at&t? there should be a site that can tell you all the phones that you can buy for your cell phone carrier, in what country, does it have 3g capabilities, etc…if anyone knows of a site like this, point me to it…
The novelty of the Iphone is starting to wear and what are Apple going to possibly be able to include in their next release to make it different to other phones out there? Make it slimmer maybe? I think not
Good point but notice how so many reviewers mention “iphone revial”? Nothing will ever rival the Iphone because of the brand name attached to it and the things attached to that brand name; style the main one. Apple could put out a new Iphone with the same features as the current 3G, slightly change the desgin and still outsell anything else. However it’s good that Toshiba are putting stuff out outside of Japan, hope Sharp can increase their output too, obv. they can make top phones.

i’m sure they mean rival as in the potential market share it COULD grab up. trust me, I’m no apple fan boy, but facts are facts, and as far as wide touch screen phones go, apple has the market cornered. let them have their iphones, it will be going the way of the apple ii in no time…

One more thing.. to the author.. why do you say iphone rival?? are you kidding? this phone is way beyond the iphone, it’s ridiculous for you to even suggest it’s a rival.. the HTC touch HD allready put the iphone to shame.. now this phone puts them all to shame and sets the bar inches higher.
It looks a great size for what it’s got, It will make the most amazing portable browsing machine, This is my 2nd time commenting on this because I ran into more hype about this baby, I have a G900 and it was advanced when it appeared with it’s 800X480 screen 2 years ago.. Toshiba are clearly pushing the boundaries with this new one, I can see myself playing PS1 & 2 games on it.

Yeah but its really starting to leave the realm of portable cell phones or even smart phones with that 4.1″ screen.
You couldn’t even put it in your front pocket and sit down without worrying about bending it in half…..
Maybe they should have attached a full size keyboard to it and rebranded it as an Toshiba TG01 w/ Intel Atom².
